WAA

At WAA (Weaving Across Africa) we honour the profound artistry of West African weaving and Bolga basketry, engaging in a dialogue between tradition and innovation. Through close collaboration with master artisans, we safeguard the intricate techniques of Asante, Ewe, and Togolese Kente weaving, preserving a cultural legacy that transcends generations. Simultaneously, we reimagine these traditions, incorporating recycled materials to craft contemporary textiles and garments that resonate with a modern sensibility.

Our collections are curated under the meticulous guidance of our Chief Master Weaver and a distinguished Tie-Dye and Batik specialist. Together, they weave a narrative that bridges ancestral craftsmanship with contemporary expression, creating works that are as timeless as they are forward-thinking.

Sustainability lies at the heart of our practice, with an unwavering commitment to producing eco-friendly, biodegradable creations that honor the earth as deeply as the cultural heritage they embody. At WAA, each piece is not merely an object but a story a testament to the enduring power of art and design to connect past, present, and future.
